Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is the art and science of getting traffic from the search engines (Google, Yahoo! & Bing) by getting your site to rank higher. Obviously, if you are interested in advertising on the PodVertise Network of sites, then you probably have a website and you should also be thinking about the search engines.
Think about the sort of keyword(s) prospective customers of yours would be typing into the search engines. Is it something like ‘podiatry supplies’? How do you rank in Google for that term? You may want to consider doing some SEO to get your site to rank higher.
What can you do?
- Start with learning SEO and read some basic guides to SEO
- Submit your site to some web directories (or get it done for you; DMOZ is the best directory but hardest to get listed in)
- Build backlinks to a site (the more links to a site, generally, the higher it ranks in the search engines)
- Engage with the search engines
